Foundations 1: Introduction to Machine Sewing A Starter Kit with all supplies and fabric will be included. Unlock your creativity and learn the basics of machine sewing with our Foundations 1 course! This hands-on class is perfect for newcomers to the world of fashion design. Over the course of the program, you'll master fundamental sewing techniques while creating your very own stylish tote bag. Course Highlights: -Introduction to Sewing Machines: Learn to set up and operate a sewing machine safely and efficiently. -Basic Sewing Techniques: Practice essential skills such as straight stitching, backstitching, and seam finishing. -Fabric Selection and Cutting: Understand different types of woven fabrics and learn how to measure, mark, and cut your materials accurately. -Bag Construction: Step-by-step guidance on assembling a lined tote bag, including sewing handles, attaching pockets, and finishing edges. -Creative Customization: Personalize your tote with decorative elements, such as appliqué or patches (not provided). By the end of this course, you'll have the confidence and skills to complete simple sewing projects and a beautiful handmade tote bag to show for it.
